Mothers Day 2014

Hi Folks

Had a great day today with my little girly winkie. The day started with homemade choccy cake - what a wonderful surprise!!

Next came a lovely gift in the form of a heart pandora bead for my bracelet (sorry no Picture of that) but it was beautiful and i love it very much.

My boobs then gave me a poem and some photos rolled up like a scroll with ribbon round it.  The poem was all about me (obviously) see below:

Did I say?

Dear Mummy
Did i ever tell you that you're the best
That your roast potatoes are divine
Did i ever tell you I'm sorry for the mess
and that tidying is your skill not mine

Did i ever tell you you're the funniest of all
That your laugh is hilarious and loud
Did i ever tell you that reading is was a bore
Unless you would read read it aloud

Fid i ever tell you that your lap is my own cushion
But it seems to be shrinking in size
And did i ever tell you that you are my mummy
And therefore the best mummy alive

I was so touched and almost had a cry!! I love my boobble soo much! She also edited these photos of us, printed them and wrapped them in the poem.

We then went off to Bury St Edmunds with my mum and gave her a little surprise.  I decided to take Ellie and Mum to Harriet's tea rooms for Afternoon Tea! It was really lovely.  We had a stand with lots of little bits of food on. Ellie had cloudy lemonade and both me and mum had tea! On the bottom part of the stand there were sandwiches: Salmon, cucumber with cream cheese and chicken.  On the second layer there were currant scones with clotted cream, they were delicious! On the top layer there were deserts: Orange profiterole, lemon cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake, bitter chocolate tart, fruit tart and a sort of strawberry custard type tart.
My deserts, although i did also have the bitter chocolate tart!

It was a really great day!  I bought Ellie a lot of clothes for our holiday too - check out her view of the day here

Sewing

Hi everyone

A quckie to show you my sewing project completed tonight
This is my beach bag for my holidays in a few weeks, I've made it with some heavy cotton doubled up to give the bag some body, I've used heavy nylon strapping long enough to just go over my shoulder, but really just for my hand.

I love the ice cream appliqué each piece sewn on separatly and I've hand sewn the buttons just to fancy it up a bit.

I then just had time to run up a travel pouch for passports etc, just need to add some Velcro to secure it. I should of done the brolly with purple and pink but for some bizarre reason used blue with the pink. Nevermind really enjoyed my evening and I will do more now I've started.

All Sorts

Hello Everyone - (all three of you)!!

I just thought i give you a quick update on things that have happened this week.

1. I've finally got the floor down in the kitchen, it looks amazing and almost finished, just waiting for the glass splash backs and window-sills to arrive.

2. My new dishwasher has leaked on the new floor - arrrrgh - a bit fed up about that so will be ringing the appliance people and complaining tomoz.

3. I had a paddy (this means a rant and rave*) this afternoon so have decided my family is better off without me so I am going to disappear into the wilderness for a year and find myself!! ( i wish!  This is total fantasy but one day i just might)

*This means shouting so loud people on the other side of the galaxy can hear me

4. I had my hair done on friday, its now extremely blond,i had it done a few weeks ago but wasn't totally happy with the colour so Lucy (that's my hairdresser) has done it again.  I love the colour now and have bought a purple shampoo to counteract the brassy colour blond can go - so I will let you know how this goes when it arrives.  The cut itself is quite nice, Lucy razored in the layers so i can flick it out a bit more.

5. My gorgeous daughter has re designed my blog for me - its more me than before, quite simple! I love the new look and can't wait to blog some more.

6.  I have re-lost some weight, i am now 9st 4lb again after a bit of a bad week the week before last but have been 9 4 now for a couple of days so am working on 9 3 now and hopefully will soon be there - gotta get to at least 8st something in 8 weeks, thats when i go on my hols!

7.  Dad came for tea on Monday which was lovely, haven't seen him for ages as he's been to india for several weeks. My dad is great.

I think thats just about it except that I've been planning mothers day next week, I'm taking mum and Ellie-Jean out for afternoon tea, at a lovely place in bury st edmunds called Harriets i hope they both enjoy it.

I'm now off to make some Jewellery, will show you what i make next time.

Lots of lovers

Organising!

Hi all

Today I've been sorting all my stuff out. If I haven't told you we moved house in September last year and we have been doing up the new house. Therefore all my stuff has been in packing boxes for several months now. Well today was the day I got it all out of the loft and organised it and got all my lovely junk out , and boy do I have a lot of junk.

I thoroughly enjoyed picking spots for all my photos etc.  Trouble is we moved from a large 5 bedroom house to a three bedroom cottage so it was a struggle to fit everything in.

Anyway here's some photos of the results.

Also I made a fab pork roast, we usually have chicken but my lovely boss roger gave me a huge joint of pork on Friday and it was just soo tasty, my new oven works a treat and everything just comes out just right.

My diets still going ok, was down to 9 st 4 lb yesterday so that's 10lb altogether I have lost so im now imagining lying on the beach with my new slimmer figure, still not good enough but a little better than a few months ago.

Having a little relax now before i go on a shoppong expedition tomoz with mum! EJR is going shopping with mates so a day to myself woohoo!!!

My Family

Hi Gen

Feeling chatty today so thought id tell you about my family:

My husband (Marty) and i have been together forever (27 years), he's a HGV driver and a part time chimney sweep, he works very hard for us all and i feel i am lucky to have hime.  I was 18 when i met him and he was a whopping 31 but the age difference has never really bothered us, maybe he gets fed up of me acting like a kid but then I'm 44 now and i still act that way lol!!

We have a daughter, Ellie Jean, she coming up 13 and is lovely - i love her to bits she the perfect daughter.  She s bright, in top set for everything, she also musical, she loves to play the piano and the guitar and sing too, ill tell you more about them another day but I'm soo lucky to have them both, they great.

I also have two dogs Jazz who's 5 and Frankie who's about 3, not sure as we rescued her, they are the loves of my life, I've always disliked dogs a lot until we decided to get jazz and now i couldn't live without them - love em!

WE also have a rat and some huge koi carp. Till last week we also had a african grey but she died suddenly, we'd had her and her mate 20 odd years, her Mate pip died a couple of years ago.

So thats my family, you'll hear a lot more about them over the next few months I'm sure!!

FEELING RELAXED!!

Hi Everyone

Feeling great today, I've lost another pound and am now starting to feel like my body is looking a little better. Im still at the herbalife and I'm now totally used to the routine of it, always have a shake for brecky and most days for lunch but occasionally on my day off i might have some crumpets or some hot cross buns with butter (like today).  I'm really enjoying it and really don't find the shakes a problem at all, and it definitely seems to be working.

I am exercising whenever i can, I'm still doing the speed walking with Nicki when i can but this isn't always possible due to my work commitments etc, so i have been walking on my own at the weekend and on my day off. I've found a nice walk that takes about 40 minutes, walking at quite a pace but its must be good for my arse muscles as they ache.

I really want to look good all summer this year but especially on the beach in the Caribbean which is now only 12 weeks away. I've been atrocious the last two or three years and am embarrassed of myself so will stick to this for a good few months and then try not to put the weight on again, i really don't want to weigh 10 stone, I like being under nine.

I've been catching up on Martys (thats my Husband) accounts today and doing the filing etc, I've got into a nice routine sitting on the computer on a monday and getting everything done so i don't really have to think about it for the rest of the week. its so easy to be lazy all the time.

gotta go and play with dogs for a bit so chat later

Today!

Had a good day today, met mum for lunch at a local eatery, had a giggle then came home to walk dogs etc, decided to do a craft project using some lamps and bead trimmings and buttons.
Really easy you just need some glue,  various buttons and the trimmings. Really enjoyed it see pictures below:
You start off with a very basic lampshade, this were £8 from Argos
The best glue to use uhu glue

Put glue around the bottom of your lamp
Cut the end of the beading at an angle so that it doesn't fray

Hold the beading at one end and stick it onto the glue

Then draw out a template of a heart/star/square/whatever pattern you are going to use and glue your buttons onto it

And there you have it! Your own personalised lampshade!
